2. IPL 2008

Despite losing an early wicket, Ross Taylor and Wasim Jaffer provided a quick start, but RCB lost wickets in quick succession and eventually could not cross the finish line. However, RCB avenged the loss in their subsequent encounter in the same edition when RCB defeated CSK by 14 runs in Chennai.
3. IPL 2009
Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a humiliating loss at Port Elizabeth when it lost to CSK by 92 runs. Batting first, CSK made 179, courtesy of a quick 65 from Matthew Hayden. CSK bowlers dominated RCB and restricted them to 87. Luck favored RCB in the next match at Durban when they outperformed CSK and beat them by six wickets. After this game, Bangalore went on to win the next two matches against CSK.
4. IPL 2019
This match is undoubtedly one of the most exhilarating and close encounters in IPL history. Needing 25 in the final over, MS Dhoni went bonkers and hit Umesh Yadav to three sixes and one four and took two in five balls. With two runs to win on the final delivery, everyone believed Dhoni would take his team over the finish line. He missed the slow ball, Dhoni and Shardul ran hard, and Parthiv Patel’s direct hit happened in a jiffy. RCB clinched a remarkable win in an inch.
5. IPL 2023
The last encounter between RCB and CSK witnessed the rain of fours and sixes. Batting first, CSK scored a mammoth 226, thanks to Devon Conway and Shivam Dube. RCB was almost there till the last over, but Mateesha Pathirana bowled a spectacular over and restricted them to 218.
